Hi I’m new to this forum but need some advice.

I’ve got 55 plate freelander 1.8 petrol and I’m having issues with the gearbox/clutch.

If I drive any longer than 25 minutes and stop I cannot get it into gear unless I switch the engine off and then it will not let me change gear even with the clutch to the floor.

I’ve changed the master/slave cylinder and checked the gearbox fluid level and it’s fine.

So is the clutch on its way out or is the gearbox faulty please help.

Thanks

Lee

I suspect the actuating arm wants a lot of lubrication, to get it free, also check the bracket that holds the slave can is not cracked or bending, failing that clutch out job to replace making sure splines are properly cleaned on input shaft

I'm having similar problems with my 1.8 but not so bad that I can't actually change gear. I need to fully floor the clutch pedal to change when the engine is up to temp. I just assumed the clutch was coming to the end of its life.
