no electrics

300tdi auto been as good as gold best landrover i'v owned untill about 3 weeks ago. locking started playing up had to press the button 5 or 6 times for the doors to unlock then after the engine started it would cut out in a matter of moments start it again and all would be well, drove to work went for a brew came back out no electrics nothing worked, rac came out hooked the jump leads up still nothing put his power pack on as well and it started, drove home with what sounded like water gurgling behind the dash. all was fine or the next week untill the problem started again new battery on started 1 hour later no electrics again. charged battery massive power drain turns out the glow plug timing relay was sticking after disconecting the relay all is fine now no noise from the dash starts fine with out the glow plugs etc. bit of a long post but it could help someone.

That IS interesting.....I just had a battery killed by a sticking glow plug relay on a 300 auto that had been sat for a few months . Worthy of note .

The gurgling will be air in your heater matrix , I would have thought .

Might actualy be whats wrong with my 300 tdi

Just bought it and the battery was draining, knew the battery I got with it was ****e, guy I bought it off gave me another battery but didnt know if it was any good, tryed it and it never held a charge very well, only got a couple of turns at the key and the battery just lost all its life, battery obviously **** as well.

So got my brothers spare battery which he said was ok and that drained after a few days,

Charged his battery and it seems to be draining within a day or 2,
