Hi all.
Some of you will know i have jsut got an old series 2a on the road and had some teething problems but eems to be okay now.

however, i don't seem to have 4wd... i have free wheeling hubs and i stripped them down and cleaned them, greased and rebuilt. all seems to be working as it should.

but, when i press the yellow lever down, or engage low ratio, i do not seem to have drive from the front.
Any ideas??
should the yellow lever stay pressed down? becuase mine doesnt!
is this a faulty transfer box??
anything obvious to check??
i know we are due the crap weather soon, so would really like to have 4wd, i live on a stonking steep hill!

OK, make sure you've read and understood the "wots all dem levers for" sticky at the top of this section.
Yellow knob should stay down in high ratio to engage 4wd.
To ensure you're in 4wd lift one front wheel. If it won't turn you're in 4wd. If it will turn and the prop is rotating it's a transfer box issue. If it will turn and the prop isn't rotating it's a diff or fwh/driveshaft issue.
You might have to look at the front of the transfer box - some of the linkages can corrode and stick.

Or you could try shoving the red knob forward as that will tell you that you have 4WD in low box.

If you have then check the linkages to the yellow knob.
