Hello to all,
as is to obvious to state really I have just signed up to the forum, I have been a Land Rover addict though mainly Range Rover for my sins for more years than I care to remember. Had various guises of the models in the land rovers mostly series 2 and 3's then onto Range Rovers from classics when they were just seen as bangers and not appreciated and bought for pennies right through the P38's and now L322. Currently running 1998 P38 V8 4.0HSE which is a pretty tidy example and so far never let me down, why did i say that lol. Recent acquisition of 2003 L322 3.0tdi HSE, here is where the brain went completely lunatic, bought with a failed autobox but I do love my challenges. I also have a fascination for the older mercs running a 1999 W22o S500, CLK320 convertible and C180k estate with a factory AMG styling kit. Still just a tatty station wagon but with a hint of rarity and interest, well to me any way. Do all my own work on them working in the motortrade from age og 16 until health forced early retirement. The vehicles are an aid to keep me somewhat fit or certainly fitter and more active than I otherwise would be and believe me with my type of vehicle choices they certainly keep me on my toes.
So thats my quick hello any question just drop them too me anytime and thank you for the opportunity to join the forum.
Brendan

Welcome to LZ!

There are several other Mercedes owners on the forum, possible because they seem to run a bit more than Range Rovers.

Link to Range Rover section below.

What area of Grampians do you live. There's a couple of Landy users around here. I was frequenter of Aberdeen in my yooooof. I was based in RAF Buchan. Peterhead
Hello Saxavordian, I live just outside of New Deer near Turriff. Know the RAF Buchan site well indeed passed it this morning while going for shopping in Peterhead. Though born and raised in the Manchester area I have always had a passion for Scotland and its history and dreamed one day I will move, well 2000 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and typically ignored it, when I finally did something I was given a pretty dire outcome. Well I am still here lol, but at that point decided life too short so gave up job and moved up and bought a small croft and well the rest is history. Never been a dull day since, apart from with the weather !!!!!

I too hail from Manchester.

It is an undeniable fact that the very best people do :D;)
Glad you are doing well and survive the flooding too. If you get the chance of traveling about. Have trip to Shetland Islands or tours around A9 route. Grantown on Spey whisky tour.
As for Manchester it's getting more corporate with apartments blocks sprouting in city centre. Kind of losing the character of Manchester as being gritty and industrial.

I do have a great fondness of Manchester, my last visit to the area was 2008 when my adoptive father passed away and even then the changes were quite dramatic. I worked as a mobile tech for a number of years for leasing companies all around central Manchester in the 80's early 90's, was there the day the IRA bomb went off. An experience I never would wish on anyone, seeing the arena being hit was another terrible day for Manchester but showed the world the incredible bravery, selflessness and respect for others the Mancunians have. I don't think I would even recognise or find my way around the Manchester I once knew so well now, times change and I suppose the fact the regeneration has brought more wealth to the city is good but I loved the character it had and the fact in parts I dare not leave my van out of sight for longer than a minute or know it would have gone hahaha. the old days and rose tinted glasses !!!!

Hello and welcome, the whisky trail is fab. Especially ending the day at Baxter's for a huge pancake
Hi and many thanks for the welcome, I have done the whiskey trail a few times lol and yes Baxter's has also been a haunt too, not been doing as much in the last few years due to various health episodes which I put down to my escapades in an ill spent youth!!!! We are very lucky to have so much readily available to us on our doorstep in this part of Gods glorious country even when the weather wants to try to make it less appealing it still in my view has to be one of the best places to live in the world, then people do say I am slightly mental and twisted hahahaha
