Hey guys,

I bought my disco 3 years ago and had it remapped by Monster as soon as I got it. The remap exposed a naffed clutch so I had a new clutch kit and DMF put in - all Valeo. Sometimes it still slips when I gun it, especially in 4th. 15k miles later the gearbox is on its way out with shagged syncros (which have been shagged since I got it TBH,) so I'll be having a recon one put in next month. I was wondering if while it's all in bits whether there was something I could do to address the occasional clutch slip, like a heavy duty clutch cover or something?

What are my options?

Cheers,

Will.

Or a decent quality one.........
Clearly any clutch slip is wrong, just gunning it should not make it slip assuming you ain't gunning it with am3t trailer on the back.

LR designed it to be heavy duty.

Would have thought Valeo parts were good, aren't they OE? Might try AP Driveline or Borg & Beck this time and see if that helps. I was thinking the same, they're sposed to be able to take a pasting and not slip - t'aint a corsa.

Stock TD5 clutch will slip in 4th with a big enough remap.

There are a lot of uprated options out there.

Britpart do a solid flywheel and sports clutch kit.

Rakeway do many variants of the same (expensive but brilliant). This is what I have in mine.

Truckfix clutches will make you up any clutch you want.

There are paddle clutches etc all over ebay.

In short, it's going to slip because it can't handle the torque in 4th (and probably 5th too) which is 1:1 ratio.
