Newby questions, help please

• Strange honk / honk binding noise sounding like its coming from my n/s front wheel, but only when the steering is gently turned to the right but dissapears when turning hard or running straight. Its not siezed brake caliper, have taken it apart to check, also cannot feel any play in wheel bearing.
• What hub nut socket do I need to take the above apart? most I have seen say up to 1998. Any one close to Aylesbury got one I could borrow?
• Got a couple of quid spare, thinking of having it chipped to increase torque and economy, I suffer on hills and fuel economy of @ 23MPG when on runs loaded with roof rack, bikes, people and boats. I usually sit at @ 65mph.
• Do I do an EGR removal or just a blanking?

I am an experienced mechanic, just want some good advice before tearing the car apart just to find a simple answer that could have taken five minutes. All repplies gratefully recieved
