Front drive shafts? hasn't got a prop like a proper landy :D i havent no but that is probably cos it's the rear drive part that goes tit's up, howerever if the whole system is working it will probably drive through the rear wheels cos it will think the front wheels are slipping possibly.

I mean the front half of what I spose would be classed as the rear prop. But with the rear half of the prop/viscous left attached.:eek:

What weight you looking to tow? the A6 tdi quattro is a good bit of kit but the quattro is more for on road stability than off-road ability. anything more than a camping field and i would get the disco.

hi no more than 1800kg
but one issue is the misses works nights and travels down bad lanes and if the weathers crap at the moment got no way of getting through the snow to her ?

I take it from the replies the gaylanders are not popular ? is this because of poor reliability or not being an effective 4x4 ?

A6 sounds great with good reviews and may be suitable but i believe if it goes wrong i dont think ill be able to do much to it and be expensive parts and garage ?

For that weight you will need a disco/fender/rangie. A6 is a awsome car but for that weight no. the only probs you get with the A6 is diesel pumps CAN go, slipped timing chains RARE and rear diff seals(more anoying than anything)
