First off I don't own one yet but am looking around town(Portland Oregon USA) for a good used one.
I almost bought one from a fellow on ebay but he had the title in lien and I didn't want to fly to California to go to his bank to pay it off.
Anyway my question is this. What type of coolent does the Disco 1998 use. I always assumed that orange colored coolent is for aluminum engines am I correct. I looked at a 98 Disco at a car lot and when I checked the coolent it was green.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers

not sure how relevent the coolent colour is... I just replaced my rad and filled it up with an orangey/pink one

From The rave CD for the TD5

Anti-freeze
Use Havoline Extended Life Coolant (XLC), or any
ethylene glycol based anti-freeze (containing no
methanol) with only Organic Acid Technology
corrosion inhibitors, to protect the cooling system
CAUTION: No other anti-freeze should be used
with Havoline Extended Life Coolant.
The cooling system should be drained, flushed and
refilled with the correct amount of anti-freeze solution
at the intervals given on the Service Maintenance
Check Sheet.
After filling with anti-freeze solution, attach a warning
label to a prominent position on the vehicle stating
the type of anti-freeze contained in the cooling
system to ensure that the correct type is used for
topping-up.

The earlier models I believe had green or blue type coolant (ethylene glycol). They did change to the pink/orange type (OAT - organic acid technology IIRC) which lasts longer.
