Newbie question...Fuel Gauge

Hello there, just aquired a 1990 Vogue 3.9 efi auto which im very happy with although the fuel gauge on these dont look very acurate. Does the fuel gauge go onto the light on the left or just to the end of the marker, does anybody know ?

Bit of a mad question but doesnt seem to go up very much when fuel is added and so not sure how to find out what im getting for mpg as i panic when the light comes on ! lol

end of the marker mate.And if your that far your gonna struggle to get the thing moving.Get it topped up as soon as it goes past the last white marker!!!!!!!!!

Seems to last for a bit after the white too ! i like living on the edge lol
