Hi all,

Just got my first 4x4 (bit more background here https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/good-morning-from-sussex.288838/ ) and I'm keen to do a bit of light off roading and green landing.

From what I can gather, there are 2 pay and play sites near me, Piccadilly Wood and Slindon (boxgrove has finished I read?) so are either appropriate for a complete noob? The car is a D2 Td5 manual with no mods but it is running GG A/Ts and is mechanically sound.

Failing that, any other suggestions for getting my wheels muddy locally without modding the car (it needs to remain my daily driver)?

Cheers

Search for the Guildford greenlaning thread - there are a couple of us handcross way that head over to meet up with the Guildford lot a few times a year for some owning - all do able in daily driver vehicles and non-damaging.

Have a search, say hello, no idea when we are next going out though

I'm guessing you have seen the Slindon website, it's as tough as you want it to be, if you don't want to scratch your car and take it easy then you can, but if you're not too fussy and want to get a little braver then there is plenty there. Worth going down, I try to when my pass coincides with one of their days.

Hi Tom,

Yes, I plan to go this month to see what it's about... Not bothered about a bit of cosmetic damage, just don't want to push it mechanically.

Does anyone know if it's ok to have kids in the vehicle whilst at Slindon? My boys would love it I think :)

Cheers

I'll drop you a note if I go too, will try to as it's looking like a free weekend for me.

From what I've seen it's fine for kids to be in the car, seen toddlers in child seats before. You see all sorts there and you're left to to what you like.
