Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd introduce myself before delving in elsewhere on the forum..

Basically I'm a prolific petrolhead who has had more cars than I care to remember (not cos I'm loaded, more because of a low boredom threshold!) but they've mostly been performance road cars and 'modern classics' (or cars that you wanted as a kid and are still worth bugger all)..

However, I've never had a 4x4 never mind a Landy, but after a camping weekend with the kids last week severely exposed the frailties of my trusty e36 328 touring, I thought it was time I went more adventurous.

I was only looking for D2s as I need something I can use daily and for long trips and it really had to be a Td5 manual (not a fan of autos). With a budget of about 2k I set my expectations fairly low and prepared myself for a wait (and some travelling) but then fate played a hand. A really good example came up locally and when I viewed it was clear it was one of those rare "no expense spared" jobs.. Bills come to about 5k in the last 4 years, including recon box and transfer, recon steering box, new brakes all round, new A/Ts, new air bags, serviced suspension compressor, new fuel loom, new turbo.. The list was endless.

So we struck a (very good) deal and I'm pleased as punch with it. Just hoping that because previous owners have spent a fortune on it, I might not have to :s

Anyway, that's me and my Landy and I look forward to getting involved.

Cheers

Hi and thanks for the welcome.. Only got a couple of photos and not uploaded to photo bucket yet... Nothing remarkable about it, just finished in racing champagne :D. Maybe when I get it dirty I'll upload some...
