I originally posted this in the FL section but it's probably better in here. :)

Thought I would sign up here as I'm considering buying a manual TD4 Facelift Freelander in either HSE or Sport Premium spec. I do 25K miles a year, currently in a 2007 Civic TypeR, and I need something a little better on juice and that can tow this on a trailer to events:

(220bhp supercharged - 0-60 mid 5 secs if you were wondering, it's brilliant and also slightly terrifying. Oh and a money pit) I also have part ownership in a MK2 MX5 endurance car that I might need to occasionally drag round the country.

Don't worry, I'm not going to ask any stupid questions (probably) as I know how google works, I've spent days and days reading about all the pitfalls and not been put off yet.

I've test driven a couple and already come to the conclusion that finding a good one could take a while. First was good to drive but a bit ropey inside and out, seconf was mint looking but not boosting and a bad drone coming from the rear somewhere.

If I do manage to find one I will look forward to some winter based car fun and use it for some light green lane shenanigans and today I have discovered ther eis such a thing as a roof tent! This is a revelation as it means kipping at race events would be more comfortable than on the back seat and weekends away with the long suffering Mrs Horney could be fun, like when we used to have a VW Camper.

I think that's enough wittering from me for now.
