Hi,

Just joined and have bought a 2003 90 hardtop - only had Jeeps before but now would never go back.
I`m sure it`s the age old question but the rims are 16" x 7" what`s the largest all terrain tyre I can fit?

Otherwise without a lift could I run 33"x 12.50 x 16? and what rim size would I need.

Thanks for your help,

Liam.

Tried the search feature before I asked and couldn`t see the answer - but I`ll try another forum.

If you get 235-85-16 they will be fine without a lift.

If you start going as wide as 12.5" then i think you are going to have to cut away some of the plastic arch to stop em rubbing!

ADDED:: Also you dont want to put 12.5" tyres on 7" rims as they will bulge and will not wear evenly! I think you need 10" rims for 12.5" tyres.

Hope this helps!

The thing is though, grippa dunt need ter search, he's got a backup of the entire forum in his heeze.

Oi grippa I've found yer a good winch, look in my Hooky thread.

Firing off an automatic "Do a search" is a quick way to put off newcomers to Landy Zone, who are often newcomers to Land Rovers.
I found that searches seldom work. If you are too specific, they won't give a result, if you are more general, you will get hundreds of results, and still not get the answer.
As in so many things the key to getting the answer, is asking the right question. If you know that you probably know the answer anyway!

well maybe you have much more time and patience than others on here to type the same thing over and over again - pointing out that the question might have been covered here before and that the answer (and a lot more related info as well) might be found via the search function just helps ensure that the forum doesnt get filled with repeats of the same questions

and your right, search using the right question and you'll get the right answer

but i'm sure if he wants or needs spoon feeding one of the other forums will be more suited to his needs

arse on ebay might work

how about "tyre size" as a good string to start with

followed by a few minutes of reading

It came up with 26 threads, none of which answered Liam's question, and a large number of were totally irrelevant.
Whilst I understand peoples reluctance to keep typing the same thing, I do feel we could be more welcoming to newbies.
And if some one keeps typing the answer to Liam's question, what, and where, is it?
