Sorry never heard of these tyres. It's a well known fact that there are only a certain number of tyres that will match a Freelander I found this out a few years ago when I replaced two of mine. I think they were Uniroyal or something like that. What a mistake to try and save a few quid, I had vibration bad road noise as soon as they were put on. I stuck with them for around six months until I couldn't stand it no longer and also the front needed changing as well so I changed them all for the Pirelli Scorpion STR's and what a difference it made no vibration and very little road noise.
So I don't know if it's your tyres or not but hopefully somebody else who is running on the same with no problems will be along soon to help you out.

hi thanks, but i dont think its the tyres as it was running in mondo mode with these fitted and was absolutely fine except for road noise. unless it would only make a difference with the prop fitted again?

It's possible as all four wheels are competing for grip now with the rear prop fitted but don't know. Have you got a friend with a freelander that you could swap the wheels around just to see if there's a difference ???

Yes quite possible. I'm sure Bell use the GKN bearings so can't see it being those. Have you tried it with the rear prop off (sorry if you have said this before I've not gone through the thread) You know I might be totally wrong but I'm betting on the tyres from personal experience.

yes tried it with rear prop off and left front half connected, noise still there.
i have no doubts about the quality of the bearing as from what i can gather they dont use crap.
ill swap the wheels over with my bamps tomorrow and run it down the road just to see if thats the problem. hopefully not as i havent long bought them haha

I'd only gone five hundred yards after having them fitted when my problems started couldn't wait to get them off. Along with the vibration I would have sworn I had a wheel bearing gone as well but all it was was the tyres.

mines there up to about 2000rpm then goes. it feels like its vibrating through the prop and up through where the vcu is bolted to the underside of the car. was yours the same?

Was the old VCU ok? If you are stuck I find that the all makes 4x4 VCU bearings have the softest rubber outer. Could be worth a try. Get the premium ones as at least the have a 2 year warranty. If you are sure that everything is in good order and it's doesn't happen with the prop completely off, and from the testing you have mentioned, it can only really be the ird or the VCU bearings? Can't remember if you have replaced the front prop? The front joint can be sensitive
I had a new vcu and prop bearings fitted by bell just over a week ago, they also changed the front diff mount for me. I have the same tightness as you describe, but no other noises, except for a single click noise on the offside rear, when the power goes on after changing gear, or if I take my foot off the throttle and then back on. Could the other diff mounts be worn and causing this click noise?

Yes its possible its also possible that its a Cv joint starting to go.
