Hi All,

Picked up my new (to me) 1999 Discovery 1 50th Anniversary Special V8 with a Single Point LPG.

She's been relatively well maintained, lots of receipts and a recent oil change. i noticed on the run back that she wasnt running all that well. She will cruise happily around 70mph, but getting there is a struggle, with a noticable vibration through the steering wheel under load.

I havent had much time to drive it, so i took it out tonight to do some testing. I wanted to see if the issue was prevalent on both Petrol and LPG and it is. The vibration is only under load, but on a cruise its fine. She also struggles going up hill.

I'm no mechanic, but my money would be on ignition or air. The previous owner has fitted a K&N Filter. Running bonnet up there's no obvious knock, so hopefully its nothing too horrendous. The only other "issues" are the Transmission Temp light which is on even from cold. Im guessing this is a sensor issue, but i mention it because im assuming its not going to be causing any ECU issues.

As i said im no mechanic, but im keen to try, so thoughts about that to try first would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Forgot to say...... The only noise i do hear is a feint ticking noise from the coil at the front of the engine. This ticking changes in frequency as the engine idles roughly. The problem seems worse when the engine is hot.

Is it the ignition or fuel only u can tell us that, so ignition u need to check the spark plugs are ok and the correct grade then the leads and dizzy, there's no moving parts in the coil so very strange your hearing a ticking noise from it u may have a faulty king lead but that's it.

Fuel, Air and fuel filters ok? clean you engine breather and on what fuel are use you using when your issues happen?

Bottom line take it back the seller unless u bought it with these problems.. could be expensive :(
