New tyres - steering vibration

Hi.

I'm on the road so typing this on my phone, excuse typos. I had 2 new Goodyear wranglers fitted on Monday. I had them put on the rear axle and had the wheels from the rear swapped to the front as they seemed to have a few months grip in them. I've been driving around local roads at 40mph without issue. I'm now driving up north to Scotland from Cornwall. I've only got to Taunton and the vibration in the steering wheel between 65-70mph is almost unbareable. I have to keep stopping to stop the tingling in my hands and arms. Do you think the tyres on the front are kaput, could it be a balancing issue or the fact that there is so much more grip on the rear compared to the front? I'm going to stay in Manchester tonight and try to get it sorted tomorrow. Any ideas much appreciated.

John

Hi

The camber on the front and rear wheels is slightly different so wear is never the same, plus with the best will in the world a wheel will never be balanced once it's been bounced around on an axel.
Firstly check your nuts are tight....insert smutty jokes here:D
Should be an easy fix, go and get the wheels balanced, but ask them to check your wheels just in case one has been bent slightly or cracked.

Fingers crossed
