Hey,

I have been playing with cars from a young age and had a fascination with LR for a long time (especially defenders), had one and unfortunately a laguna left a rather unusual shape in the side. But it has been reborn. Now I have a rather nice TD4 Freelander 2004, having an issue that a few people are having the dreaded 70mph limp mode.

I have changed out the following on it so far:

Vac Tubes, Inter-cooler pipes (silicone ones now), crank case breather (now BMW cyclone version), fuel filter, turbo breather, air filter, oil change and oil filter (not related to this issue). ERG replacement and Turbo has already been changed before I got her, and Vac pipes are blocked off where they should be.

I am down to my last three options:

Turbo Solenoid Valve.
MAF sensor.
Air Temperature Inlet Sensor.

It is black smoking under heavy Revs (around 3000) I have also thrown some injector cleaner through it. I am looking for a bit of guidance here as my 2.5 TD Defender is a hell of a lot easier to figure out than this. Read a few things and it is mostly pointing towards the turbo solenoid, if there is a way of testing this and the MAF it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance guys.
