Hi all.

I am looking at buying a Range Rover Evoque 2013. It is quite a high spec model but apparently it has had 4 previous owners. The salesman did say that the first might have been a pre-reg so it may have only had 3 proper owners but still.

Anyone see problems with this? It is the exact car that I'm looking for which I cant find anywhere else at the moment and part exchanging mine at a good price, I just worry about the owners thing.

My Defender has had 11 owners. Some people only own a vehicle for 3 years, or even just a year in some cases, and trade them.in for newer models. Just check the history.

Excellent. Ive done that. Suspiciously only done 1600 miles between 2016 and 2017. Not sure what I make of that.

Is there any way of finding the dates of sales other than receipts in the documents?

No. It may just have been a second or third car in a family.

Or hidden after the bank job until things cooled down.

Excellent. Can you recommend a site/company that gives that info? Not sure what ones I've used in the passed and if they showed that level of detail or not. Thank you.

Have you not asked this on MSE as well? Think you got your answer there.

Oh yeah I completely forgot about that.

Just been over there, not very nice about them are they. lol

I really am in two minds. I don't ideally want it with that many previous owners BUT it has everything that I want in one. And he's offered me a really good price for my part ex. Frustrating.

Number of owners means bugger all. Do the HPi check, if it checks out, buy it. Like I say my Defender has had almost a Dozen owners. Even my wifes 2009 Astra has had 5 owners.

What have owners got to really do with it.

1st owner was a stealer demo car nothing wrong with that.
2nd owner was somebody who wanted to get ahead of the “Jones” and got a deal on a car 6mths old.

So from there they would have probably part exd after 12-18mths and then. 2 more owners in 4 years, 1 of whom couldn’t justify having it for the use it was getting.

Amount of owners is not something I bother with it’s the car itself. Take it you buying from a dealer so a few safe guards there. Ask them to prove HPI clear if you are that worried. And get a service out of them:D

I have a 2001 RR 2 owners, original and me ,in my ownership yes a few years between MOTs a couple of hundred miles. So unless there’s other suspected clocking signs, I don’t see a problem.

If it’s what you want and you “feel” value for your money then do it.

J
