I was under the truck, greasing the prop shafts the other day and I noticed that a rear shocker is leaking oil.
Any suggestions, I'm after like for like replacements.
I just want standard ride jobbies, no lifting or serious off roading.
Cheers

Get decent gas ones.
I fitted GAZ ones many moons ago, they do the job beautifully AND they cut the body roll almost completely out!
That is why they fitted ACE to the D2.

Cheers mate!
If you search on here there was a thread about which ones are best.
Here you go buddy!

I found these on eBay, what do you think.

Get the orange Britpart ones instead, cellular dynamic. The super gaz shocks i had didnt last very long. But others have had success.
There are big debates on cellular.
some love em some don't.
I'd personally go for the latest version of gas shocks recommended by those on here who have tried them, as I have heard that since I fitted my GAZ ones, the company isn't making them as well.
You pays your money and you makes your choice!

Just a quick update, Im still looking at different makes.

What are the opinions on, KYB Excel G shocks, this will not be used for any serious offroading, 99% road use really.

When I came back to LR, after a pretty sh*t experience when a Ni$$an fell in half, I put Terrafirma dampers on my new to me D1 - don't bother IMO - they failed - either snapped (!!!), or leaked just out of warranty  ....

In the meantime, we had bought SWMBO's D1, which was fitted with Britpart Super Gaz .... always thought the ride was better than mine, so threw the TF's away, fitted BP SG's, and Bob is my mothers brother :D

Shop around for prices - when I bought mine, the local indy was cheapest, just beating Paddocks ;)

My D2 is on the original springs but installed with KYB front & rear. They are the Premium oil filled type and have absolutely no regrets - comfortable ride and excellent overall stability. Don't do much offroading nowadays but I do pull the occasional 500kg trailer.

I have purchased a pair of BP super Gaz shocks but I have a question.
Should there be a sleeve for the new poly type bushes that go into the top eye mounts.
Mine came with yellow bushes, washers and a nut.
The old shocks have a sleeve through the middle of the rubber bushes.
When I try the new bushes on the mount pin, they seem to have a bit of play.

If they are a sloppy fit get back on to the retailer and ask them, they may simply have forgotten to put them in the boxes!
Thanks for the reply.
I wouldn't say they were any more sloppy than the ones on there, which have bushes. Is there supposed to be a bit of movement in the joint joint? What I'm really asking, has anyone fitted poly bushes without a sleeve.
I got them from Island 4x4 in Kent, but couldn't get through on the phone yesterday afternoon, will try again.

How many bushes do you have?
How many sets of the same design are there?

picture of the top of the shock please.

( I would say they have not given you the correct top bushes, then are lower bushes)

This is what was sent, there are 4 bushes,2 have different sizes to the other 2. Don't know if you can see, but the smaller bushes are very close in size to the bottom washers. The top eyelet bush holes are bigger than the washer holes.

I put Britpart Yellow Super Gaz shocks and springs on my Disco a couple of months ago. It drives like a different car! But that’s probably because the ones on before were utterly screwed. This video helped loads…

Hi and thanks for the video, it looked like the old one's he was removing from the rear, didn't have a sleeve.
When you fitted your shocks, did you have the sleeves for the top mounts on the rear.
