Hi, I am new and proud owner of a 1997 P38 Range Rover 4.6 HSE. I live in Brunei Darussalam and there are quite a number of P38s around in my country. I have a few questions regarding the the car.

1) What is the service intervals for the car?
2) What is the recommended Motor Oil viscosity for this car?
3) Can I replace the alarm system with an aftermarket alarm system?
3) This may sound like a really stupid question but how to turn off the aircon?
4) I have found a 19x9 wheels design for BMW saloon cars, can it be bolted onto the Range Rover since they share same PCD?

Thats all for now. I will ask some more questions when Im in doubt :D

Did you not get a hand book with you rr??? this will have some info you need, but most inportantly it should have eka code as im in no doubt you will need this one day, Rob

well for the air cond. you have to turn of the A/C compressor (top right button) first and then the blower motor can be turn off. That is how my 2002 works.

1) What is the service intervals for the car?
12000 miles, but most people change the oil and oil filter every 3000-5000miles. As you probably live in a dusty country, change the air filter as well
2) What is the recommended Motor Oil viscosity for this car?
10-40W, divided feelings on here between mineral and semi/fully synthetic. Use a good quality oil.
3) Can I replace the alarm system with an aftermarket alarm system?
Not really..could create more problems than you are trying to avoid.
3) This may sound like a really stupid question but how to turn off the aircon?
On the HEVAC panel, there is a switch with A/C, press the switch and the light will come on, crazy I know, but that's the P38 for you!!
4) I have found a 19x9 wheels design for BMW saloon cars, can it be bolted onto the Range Rover since they share same PCD?
Probably not because the Range Rover uses larger and different wheel nuts..I think.

As others have posted..download RAVE, plenty of links on here...it's an essential database.

Thats all for now. I will ask some more questions when Im in doubt :D
