new owner looking to buy!

Hello all, at the moment got a e46 m3( great car btw) my dads always had land rovers ever since i was a kid. im looking at buying a land rover discovery series 2.

planning on doing a lot of travelling and off roading so pretty much turning it into an expedition vehicle over a period of time.

first thing im after is obviously a disco 2.

any help with what to look out for when buying one would be greatly appreciated.

secondly ive seen a safety devices roof rack i think its called a highlander apparently they dont make them anymore and are hard to get hold of anyone thats got one and wants rid of send me a pm cheers.

there may be a few buying guides in the discovery section that may help but for the disco 2 apparently the later model the better, some early models had problems with cracked blocks, HGF and other faults.

as for the rack, cant help but there is a wanted section in anything goes and a for sale section at the top otherwise fleabay is an option.
