Discovery 2 New Owner

Hey All! Great to finally own a Land Rover Discovery 2. Absolutely love it Looking forward to working on it and most of all getting out there. Got it to turn into a expedition style truck, something I can load up with my surfboards, head to the coast, camp, cook and shower!

So far I've added;

How it's going... Loaded up and just made it from London to the West of Ireland via Snowdonia. 675 miles and no bother!

1st thing that's gone wrong Air suspension gone on the rear. Not the best time to be getting parts or finding a garage to help out.
Worse places to be stranded I guess!

Check the height sensors, they sieze up on the joints and break off. They can be replaced easily and if your lucky you don't need to recalibrate them. Check the airbags themselves for any cracks or scabby surfaces and get yourself a nanocom.

Unfortunately living in London on a busy street means that servicing my car myself is out of the question. So after a recent service at Arkley 4 x 4 where they pointed out my steering damper was gone, I attempted to replace it myself. It's a pretty simple procedure of removing two bolts which I thought I could do on the street... Turns out on of the bolts was completley seized and wasnt budging. So a quick trip to the local garage, £48 later and the OME Steering Damper is in. Huge improvement, feels really solid on the road now and steering wheel play is almost gone
