Good morning everyone
My name is Ray and I live in Staffordshire. I owned a series three for the first time about twenty five years ago selling it to buy a defender eleven years ago. Unfortunately my defender was stolen two months ago.
I was told about a series three diesel in a shed a couple of years ago and I have just purchased it.
It' been in the shed for at least fifteen years with 19052 miles on it and is very straight for its year 1981.
I hope you don't get fed up with me asking to many questions as I will be attempting to do all the jobs myself. Thanks in advance
Ray

Nice!!!!!!
And welcome from me. I don't know anything so it's pointless asking me!! I just own a selection of hammers in my tool box!!!
But nice motor can't wait to see it brought back to life

Someone has to ask them!

Just like how someone somewhere has to like hippos.
Haha!! You ask the stupid questions and I give the stupid answers!!
Team work

And did you have to mention that fekin word "hippo"
Its put me in a bad mood!! They all need scraped and turned into washing machines and baked beans cans!!
Embarrassment to the LR name

@popa ray Welcome aboard :) Good pictures too - interesting project :)

You ask away - as you've seen, if nothing else questions will create a bit of banter on here

Oh yeah, and the only stupid question is the one you don't ask ;)

Haha, sorry, i wonder how many new doors could be made for series vehicles out of a few hippos.

It is as it came out of the shed
Welcome.

Nobody here will get fed up, i ask more stupid questions than i care to think about.

Lovely pics too
Thanks for the wellcome guys, l forgot about the hammers I think I have a set of series three somewhere .
I checked oil put a battery on and it turned over so bled it after finding it had nearly a full tank and to my surprise it fired up .
I was told the clutch was seized but I decided to change master and slave cylinder with pipework, ,,,,,,,,,,clutch works fine.
I have no brake lights and one indicater not working,a drip on the diesel pump and only a handbrake .
Fun days ahead

Impressed its in such good nick..and a few minor problems. some fun days ahead and a few headaches though and a million and one surprises you weren't expecting !!
It is a landrover after all! Nowts straightforward
Have fun and see you around
Weldy
