Hi, I'm cammo45 a new member to Landy Zone and a regular visitor to the site after buying a 2000 model P38 a few months ago. Several years ago I ran a 2.25 series 3 lightweight which I used for trials and competitions and also for work, a round trip of 36 miles a day. It never let me down winter or summer though being petrol it was a bit thirsty. The wife wasn't too keen on it so I sold it and bought a Range Rover Classic with a 200 Tdi and I ran that for about 8 years and that never let me down either, when I sold it, it had approx 240,000 miles on it. I then took the plunge and bought a P38 DT with 84,000 miles on the clock, great car to drive and very comfortable, then things started to go wrong such as the fan shearing off at the water pump and going through the radiator. Then the alarm going off at night for no reason, then the engine immobiliser giving trouble and now the BeCm packing up. I must be getting punished now for all the happy trouble free days I had with my previous motors. Well I live in hope that when I get the BeCM fixed everything will be fine and never a dull moment with a P38.

Welcome to the Loonie Zone.
It looks like I'll be seeing more of you over in the plush comfort of the Range Rover section.

Thanks dogsbody, now that I have a P38 i'll be a regular visitor to this site, when I had a lightweight and then a classic 200tdi, both reliable and trouble free motors, I didn't know this site existed. It's good to know by visiting this site that I'm not the only one with P38 problems.
