Morning All,
I was a member on here some time ago when I had a Freelander 1.8 Petrol Serengetti which although ran faultlessly had to be traded in for something a bit more economical for work purposes .
Now that my employment situation has changed again I miss the old girl and want to venture back into the 4x4 world.
Whilst my initial requirement is for something that will be used as my day to day vehicle I want to try a bit of mild offroading and with a budget of about £6000 I'm thinking of investing in a facelift 03> Freelander TD4.
One question I have is that I may need to use it from time to time for long distance motorway journeys and was wondering a) what sort of mpg I should expect and most importantly b) will she sit "happily" at a reasonable 75-80mph cruising speed @ what rpm?
I know I should really be talking mud on here butmy old petrol model really didn't like it much above 65-70mph which sometimes became frustrating.
Any advice of what else to look out for would be much appreciated...
Thanks in advance.
PS. What are the main differences between the standard and sport models?
