Hi everyone. I'm new and signed in because I will cross all UK up to north of Scotland in november/december with my Defender 110 (pick-up, 2 doors) from 2010 (lots of modification to survive in it!). A long time dream to visit this land, and make a tour of whisky distilleries in winter with a Defender. By experience, I used to travel for many years all Norway in winter in my previous Defender, and I know how it could be helpfull for a lost froggy frenchman to get infos, help, tricks, rescue (hope not). Please, forgive my english, sometimes weird. Franck

That's a trip and a arf.
Closer to the time if you put up your rough route in the right section many member's will probably say if they are close if you need help

.

Are you intending to visit the isles? cos there is ~~some wierd ones there~~ 1 member up there that knows the distilleries' well @Def90man

J ,M : I confess I'm confused !

I will definitively post my route, hopefully in the right section on the forum) before leaving france beginning of november.
And yes for sure I want also to visit the isles, who will not ?
I will post some pics of my Def soon (I'm working on it actually to make it warner, or least less colder!

I mean the one I know, but would be great to find some I don't, and I'm sure there are a lot ! And I'm bloody sure a lot we don't know in France.

I will post soon some pics of my Def, hopefully tomorrow.

If you are wanting smoky (peated you will need to head to Islay)

There’s only 9 distilleries on Islay with 2 more under construction. Good job I only drink Stella

I can just notice I'm in the right forum !
I like smokey (so for sure I'll go to Islay). But I'm more into straight basic old single malt (even if I discovered fanstactic blended), but I'm a kid : 55 years, frenchman, means a very poor whisky culture so far.`

Just over the border near Gretna you have Annandale distillery if you come up the M6 Lowland malts are really nice but it's a new distillery.
