Just purchased a new head unit Kenwood DMX8020DABDS. have a Sony XAV64BT that's discon & very slow. Also purchased a Kenwood Mini Amped Woofer for under passenger seat. How hard will this be to fit? New HU has GPS signal for dashboard & will require DAB aerial too. Should I attempt this or leave it until I can find somewhere to do it for me? How long would this take?

I have the DMX125DAB and it's a steaming pile of poop, as far as the interface goes. It was also a bit of a pain to fit in the Freelander 1, requiring grinding and filing of the cage and some bending and brute force to get it to fit. If I found a decent cheap Android with DAB I'd swap it out in a second. The electrical connection was fine with a Ford ISO adaptor and an aerial adaptor, but I need to do some investigation into getting the steering wheel controls connected without spending a lot of cash on adaptors.

Well I originally order the 8019 as it was best head unit 19/20 but after 3 weeks it was still out of stock so they upgraded me. £600 unit for £425! I guess the connection from my old one will be of similar type so could I just use these? I'd like to think im competent enough but just would like a bit of advise.

What size is it? DIN, Double DIN?

You'll need to get the correct trim panel to fit the shape HU you have. The FL1 wiring is proprietary, so you'll need a harness adapter to fit between the car's harness and the new HU.

You'll need to add some wiring for that.

Depends on your skill set.

Again it depends on your skill set.

I could fit it in a couple of hours.
