Hi guys, thought I'd introduce myself, I recently bought a 97 300TDI Discovery, found out its rotten and am resurecting it for its MOT next saturday.

Found out a wealth of information on this site already but one bit of information I cant find out is, is there any of these "pay n play" sites in NI or anywhere I can turn up the the Disco and go offroad? All I can find myself is places where you pay them a fortune to go offroad in their Jeeps.

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Will

CROZIER 4X4 LTD - Land Rover Parts Ireland - Crozier 4x4 Mainly LR based shop but the lads are well into their off roading.

Thanks, Ill have a look at them and see if I can find anything.

Also how can you tell the difference between a 300TDI and a 200TDI engine, mine doesnt have the plastic engine cover but I dont know if the engine has maybe been changed at some point.

Thanks, Will

if it has an old style fan belt its 200 if it has a grooved serpintine belt its 300;)

cant say i've seen a 300 without the rubber cover but could be if some divvy took it off and never replaced it

Thats why I thought it may be a 200 Engine that someone had swaped in at some point because it looks identicle to a 200 engine and I cant see anywhere obvious where the plastic cover would have bolted onto.
