Hi there

Quick question... I have just purchased new Front seats for my 90 and am havin real trouble getting the headrests in. In fact I have had to send the seats back as the seat material has been pulled out of the metal ring (around headrest hole) whilst I have fought getting them in...

As far as I am aware these are standard Landy seats but the headrests seem to have no way of going into the whole in the seat... Am I missing something? Am I just weak? Should they slide in easily? There seems to be no way keeping them at certain heights either????

Maybe I ma just expecting to much form Landrover seats??

I installed exmoor trim head rests to the seats in my 1986 90. The fabric on the seats was pulled right over the channel / hole that the head rest stem sits in, so I had to cut through it in order to expose the channel. There doesn't seem to be any form of 'ratchet' that holds the head rest in place, or any easy way of releasing it. From what I remember, I had to give them a good shove and shout t w a t s quite a lot in order to get them to go in. I'll probably have to really wrench on them if I ever want to take them out. I think there was a little spring loaded latch that pops out once the stem is in the channel, but it certainly didn't have any adjustable notches. You just have to set the height for yourself and hope that the tight push fit / latch mechanism doesn't slacken off!

Thx for this. At least I know I am not alone on this issue... I thought it was just me that could not get em in... I must admit I have tried t jam them in but no luck and am not happy about buying new seats where the metal rim has now popped off... They have gone back anyhow and I shall be asking for them to be returned with Headrests already in... Thx again pos
