new engine needed :(

Greetings folks.

I'm looking for a new engine for my Landrover freelander 2000 mod. it's a 1.8 manual non-led.

I'm from Norway, so I don't really know my way about in the UK concerning what blokes to call, so If anyone is sitting on one or happens to know of any shops that has one, please let me know

Personally I wouldn't buy from ebay, only locally.
Lots to wrong with a k-series, if I was viewing to purchase a 2nd hand engine I'd wanna do a compression check, which can be done with the engine out and cranked via the crank pulley nut (22mm)

Make sure it's a swap like for like, distributor type MEMS 1.9 pre2001, coil pack MEMS 3 post 2001

If you have to buy from UK, source a re-conditioned one, Turner engineering springs to mind.

This does sound like a cool option, but has anyone ever really done it???
