If you are going to stick to dizzy only use Genuine parts NOT pattern parts which will cause you grief and heartache ,I learnt that lesson!!!!.
Mallory is nice kit but expensive.
If you are going to use standard dizzy may I suggest you get it modified by Steve Gunning 01225 350711. He can alter it to give earlier advance and more advance, both will give you smoother running and more go!!!!
To answer you Q about pins, I am pretty certain all new dizzys come with the 3 pin Amp and you can get the adapter or someone on this forum may be able to explain how to make up your own adapter. Cheers Nick

I heard that before, but supposed to be top class customer service though and I heard although the parts seem cheaper quality than normal they work well.

it was a thread on here, about simon bbc I think- do a search maybe.

I bought some bulldog wheel spacers from there which seem nice

Got mine from ignitioncarparts.co.uk, £130 +vat inc coil.
Been running for 5 months now without problems and it's got a 2 year guarantee.
Pin wise, one of them (centre?) is just an earth, so splice into the other 2 wires, don't go direct from the coil.
If you can afford it and wan't to buy from the main stealers fine, but I don't think you need to in this case.

I got a new distributor for my 93 3.9 efi engine off ebay from seller simonbbc I've had it for over a year now and never had any problems with it. Can't remember the exact price but I know it was well under a £100.
