New Clutch, Springs, Shocks Now Loud Vibration Noise?

Hi Guys

I recently had a TB oil leak so I decided to have the clutch replaced and new Discovery springs, original Land rover, Monroe gas shocks all round including steering damper.

Since I had this work carried out there has been a very loud vibration, rumbling noise inside the vehicle, this is more evident at 70mph than at a lower speed, and I have checked the wheel nut tightness.
The engine is running fine and there seems to be no problems with the new clutch.

Any ideas as to what’s causing this noise as I cant visibly find any evidence visually but it’s a very noisy vibration which concerns me, the vehicle was fine before the work undertaken.

check prop ujs and alignment if someone split prop at slide

Did this occur immediately after the work was done ? Sounds like what JM says but if not,have you considered inner wall tyre damage or balance? Sometimes inner walls can suffer or lose balance weights while on a lift.

I am going to take it in to the garage that carried out the work, I will explain what you say it could be, the prop was removed as was the gearbox to replace the TB oil seal and clutch, do you have to refit the prop as where it was split, as you have explained, there were a few heavey clunks but as already mentioned on the thread it is an art driving a disco with a clunky gearbox, I'm not happy I had all this work done and I have issues, furthermore I checked and my TB back seal has started leaking following being repaired two weeks ago :-(

It's not the tyres, they are fine, all I can do is return to the garage and ask them to remove the prop and realign where it was split or as JM has explained.

I'm not familiar with the prop, when you said at the slide, what did you mean? At the transmission plate or the prop out to the diff

at one end of prop with rear prop its near hand brake front near diff is the sliding joint which is splined,front can be put out of line and both can seize

Thank you for the information and explanation, I will explain this to the garage and hopefully they will put it right, considering they service and repair Land Rovers, I didn't expect anything to go wrong, I'm not impressed, because the TB back oil seal has failed and that was only done on 3 August, along with the other work :-(
