had the first signs of clutch slippage last night, so new clutch is likly to be on the cards in the new year.

So, apart from the clutch, cover and release bearing, what else should I do whilst im under there.
Clutch fork (change to HD)
and theres an oil seal on the back of the engine too IIRC, anyone know the part number for it?

Also, how long should it take to do, a day?? bearing in mind its the fisr one ive done, although might call on the assistance of a couple of mates.

for 300tdi clutch kit stc8358bb or h/d stc50501, ftc2957hd clutch pivot lever ,8566l spigot bush ,luf100430 + err6811 rear main oil seal and gasket , you can do it in a day but a weekend is best bet

magic, thanks.
Its only just started to slip, so hopefully I can nurse it though a couple of weeks, its only a few hundred miles

nah, me caravans pretty light tbh, and I slip the clutch less with the fender, cos I use low box when reversing anyway.
standard it is then (unless there very little price difference)

The standard 130 clutch is pretty beefy, think I paid around 100 for a Borg and beck 3 piece kit and it has towed 3 tonne through mud for the last year with no problems. Took me a full day to change mine on my own with just an engine crane and a trolley jack and no experience. Totally doable ( if that's a word) in a weekend with as many t breaks as your bladder can hold! If there are two of you then your laughing. I used a spark plug socket as an alignment tool so don't panic about a clutch alignment tool ;) I did do a Fred about it with photies too

If you get the full HD clutch arm "kit" it comes with the arm, pads, and the push rod clip, saves faffing buying them separately.

Surely a good standard spec (AP or Borg & Beck)clutch plate should be good enough, may be worth avoiding the £40 BP kits, I don't think its worth the risk

thats what I was looking at tbh, not gonna risk it for a clutch, its job I dont want to have to redo.
