New Classic VCU fail suspected, remove prop?

Only the first of my four RRC's had a VCU (a '93 back in 2001) the rest have all been 3.5efi's with the 230T transfer box.
 
Thanks for all the contributions and am pleased to report that i have the Range Rover back. Band new VCU fitted for the bargain price of £40 cash from my local Agricultural and LR specialist.

No more scrubbing and managed to get away without breaking anything else either.

He had a good poke around whilst underneath and concluded 'its a good one', albeit with a couple of hundred pounds of welding required although not urgent.

Next on list are to acquire some rubber overmats, sort headlining, get radio code, find replacement driving lights and some touch up paint for a nasty scratch.
