New CCU

Does anyone know if when you install a new CCU it would leave my TD4 in transit mode? The part number is slightly different and I am getting a constant two tone alarm from the CCU, fob doesn't work but the car still opens on the key, starts and runs etc but no rear reversing lights, wiper, glass drop on console switch etc and a constant alarm all the time.

To answer my own question, yes it does, remember to allow £80 + VAT for a dealer to do this if you fit your own CCU

Whats worse is that the CCU didn't fix the original problem of rear window, wiper, reversing lights etc! Even bigger ouch!!! Back to the drawing board, so far, £6 for brake light switch, £33 for reverse light switch, £145 for CCU, £80 for programming, £24 for window lift relay, £98 for rear window lift mechanism and £75 for an auto electrician for a couple of hours and still no better off! Massive ouch !!!

Download RAVE and check the wiring yourself, it has good circuit diagrams in it.

Tried that, even showed it to the auto electrician who had a good go but seems to me like the problem must be from the reverse light switch to the CCU, maybe a broken wire. I'm sure the reversing lights link through the CCU as it needs to operate the rear wiper when you select reverse if the front wipers are on. I'll get him back for a bit to try other fluff on it!

You need to take it to a LR garage - either franchised or indy.With Testbook or similar,get them to look at the rear door electrics in live data.Probably find that the CCU is not seeing the correct feedback from the wiper motor,so wont do the window etc.Get the live data to make sense and it will all come back to life.

Would that not have shown as a stored fault on the CCU when LR dealer re programmed it? They said that there was no stored faults on the CCU although they did not even check the operation of the rear end after doing it! They even carried out an MOT on it straight after, it passed even though the rear washer and wiper were not working, along with the reversing lights although I know they are not part of the MOT, thought the wipers were!

CCU does not store faults - same as a BECM on an LP RR.Rear wipers are not part of an Mot.You need to find somewhere slightly more understanding to your needs.....
