Am about to replace a rear brake caliper on a P38. Do I have to go through the whole bleeding procedure or as it's just the one would I get away with just doing the one corner?

if you clamp flexi with mole grips carefully if nothing else with a bit of rag in jaws to protect pipe you wilkl only need to bleed that caliper, but you should really change both side unless other is like new to keep car square under heavy braking

The right side is still fine with good smooth movement so I'll keep an eye on it just in case of an imbalance. The left one is dragging and heating up a bit so that's the one for the off. New discs and pads on a couple of weeks ago too so don't want to ruin them.

Done, gently clamped the hose, removed banjo bolt then caliper, refitted it all (new washers), opened the bleeder, ignition on, pump through clear, tightened bleed. All in 10 minutes. Imagine if that was at the main dealer!

Hi as said if you clamp it and be carefull that you dont get air in the system you will be fine. Is the caliper that bad, if its not leaking its not that bad a job to remove it, clean and grease the sliders and at the same time give it a good clean up and paint. I did all mine a couple of weeks ago as they were all seized, also if you do this change the bleed nipple at the same time.
