Hi all.

I have a 10yr old Freelander 2 and the alternator went recently. Got a new one however the battery light occasionally comes on.

I got a cig lighter volt reader to get an idea whats happening.

Normal running volts seems to be 13.8 to 14.6v. Usually around 14.4v.

Sometimes the voltage drops to as low as 13.2v - seeming at random times - and the light comes on. When the light is on, the reading is generally 13.6v.

With the battery light on, i tried switching the engine off and back on - the light goes off.

The light only stops on for a couple of miles then goes off. The car seems totally fine throughout.

I've had the alternator and battery checked and both seem ok.

Struggling for ideas. Can anyone help?

Thanks.
Lee
