I just saw you get the rubber part separate for a bit cheaper than the whole unit. Mayby that is what you want?

Had a mate try this and he said it just wasn't worth the aggro for the small financial saving, said is was a right PITA job and what ever he did save he spent on washing up liquid to try and help the new bags on.

I have GenIII's and was lucky to get them for the same price as the Dunlops (virtually brand new) probably wouldn't have paid the full price. And has been said they offer extra height for off roading, but the biggest difference is in the road holding, no they don't give you F1 levels of grip but they keep a P38 much flater through the twisty stuff than the standard air springs and this is not at the cost of a bone crunching ride either. If you've ever been in an Mk 3 Rangie you will no the difference between the ride in one of those compared to a P38, the GenIII's make the ride closer to a Mk3 than a P38.
If you have money to burn go for the GenIII, if not stick with OEM, they will both do a better job than a knackered old air spring, but you will notice a big difference running Gen III's.

I have 4 Dunlops on my car. The back breaks the bacelite piece everytime I go offroading. Spoke to a fundi here. He said it can't handle the preassure if the car goes uphill through cambers................ Next time I will go fot the GenIII.

£500 is alot of dosh and I was lucky to get mine for £250:)

The gen II has the same basic design as OEM, but is constructed to a harder wearing standard than OEM, hence Arnotts lifetime warranty.

The gen III is a completely different design which is why it has different handling characteristics on the road and a different price tag!!

All the technical gubbins are on Arnotts web site. I'm more than happy with how my P38 handles. But I do have to say I wouldn't be quite so happy if I'd paid £500:)

I got lucky a couple of years ago. A chap on ebay had just put them on his Rangie, they had covered about 200 miles (they were as good as new) when a change of circumstances ment he had to sell his P38. To maximize his profits he put the old air springs back on and put the GenIII's on ebay. And I bid the highest:) Took a bit of a chance because they did look good in the pictures but you can never be too sure, but got a pleasant surprise when I opened the box to find 4 virtually brand new air springs looking at me. Fitted them straight away and have had a non wallowy Rangie ever since:)

I think i will by the gen II to start with :). as i am going to youse it 80% on road and not for hard offroad ..

is it difficult to change them ??

Hi I fiited 4 new airsprings from Island 4 x 4 five months ago. Delivered for £230 inclusive and they are marked genuine Dunlop. They are good quality. Buy new clips while you are at it. Very easy job to do and the ride is superb.

The Gen 2 is also a completely different design to OEM. On Arnott's the bag is crimped to the housings top and bottom, the OEM just seats with a bead like a tyre and in the case of deflation can, like a tyre, become unseated.
