Hi All

I've just bough an 06 RRS with 155k on the clock.

It's been extremely well cared for and the engine runs tight and sweet.

I'm taking her abroad on a 2k mile road trip so....what should I do to her before the journey?... what should I check or replace or even any preventative maintenance.

I've booked a front/rear belts service
A new water pump
Oil change and all filters replaced
I have asked the garage to check all steering and suspension bushes
I'll give the coolant system a flush.

Any advice please?

Thanks - Max

I'd change the gearbox oil,

Look up ZF6hp26 service procedure it is involved, but should be done, if not already!

A good supply of oil and Pus helps

If having belts done then change the oil pump for the later type. It’s not unheard of that after belts change the existing oil pump casing fractures, destroying the engine.

Thought you were off to the sun today Alan? Hissing down again here, can't see the end of the garden it's so heavy.:(I only recover P38's, waiting to hear from Mark when he eventually heads back to France, I have a trailer on standby:D
Waiting for the taxi as I type Keith, the rain we had yesterday and early this morning must have decided to have a holiday in France.Sun's out here now, hope the flooding stays away .;)
