Hi
I need to replace my 1997 P38 4.0 se engine/ Auto (Emission Problem) I've got an option of buying a Classis Soft Dash Range Rover with a 300TDi engine / Manual.
If I change the engine/ gearbox, how do I sort the other stuff ECU's engine, gearbox, how would it effect the Becm and other stuff like exhaust, petrol tank.....and whatever ive haven't thought of !!!!!!!!!

Just can't find a 4.0se engine !!!!

i wouldnt break a soft dash rangie , seem a bit rare for that
as for your question it wouldnt be straightforward as the engines are miles apart in terms of technoligy

Forget it to much work. If you do find a used 4.0 there is no guarantee it will be any better than yours. If yours is suffering from oil burn fit new rings and valve stem seals that may sort it for the time being.
