Hiya

Just bought my disco (TD5 ES) - problems listed below - can anyone please help or give advice? (crates of beer bought for willing helpers)!!!

1) Neither of the Electric sunroofs work

2) Need to take off front A Bar - do I have to remove front bumper?

3) Drivers seat belt slidy thing does not slide

4) Would like to change the front headlights for the fancy ones?

5) Drivers heated seat does not work :( - (other half won't drive it on a cold day 'cos it don't work)

6) When it pours with rain, I get a random drip from behind the interior mirror and one on the nearside at the back somewhere as the load cover gets wet

That's all I can think of at the mo!!!

Hiya

Just bought my disco (TD5 ES) - problems listed below - can anyone please help or give advice? (crates of beer bought for willing helpers)!!!

1) Neither of the Electric sunroofs work At a guess they've been disconnected to stop them leaking

2) Need to take off front A Bar - do I have to remove front bumper?Without looking at one I can't tell you.

3) Drivers seat belt slidy thing does not slide which slidy bit are you on about? The top mounting point?

4) Would like to change the front headlights for the fancy ones? Pm The Mad Hat Man. He does the wiring for headlight conversion kits. (they are also advertised in the for sale section).

5) Drivers heated seat does not work :( - (other half won't drive it on a cold day 'cos it don't work) Check for power getting to the seat pads first. It could be as simple as a fuse gone. If I'd leave it alone if I were you. If your other half is anything like mine they'll take the landy with a full tank of fuel and return it to be re-filled when empty. If they won't drive it your fuel bill drops dramatically.;)

6) When it pours with rain, I get a random drip from behind the interior mirror and one on the nearside at the back somewhere as the load cover gets wet Remove the interior trim near the leak and then sit inside while playing a hose pipe over it to help locate the leak. Be warned that leaks can often track a long way so you may end up with virtually no interior left while on the hunt for it.

That's all I can think of at the mo!!!

Answers in red.:)

1. Check fuses?
2. No you don't. Google for "land rover rave" and download it. It includes accessory fitting guides.
3. Take door rubbers off and then you can easily release the clips that hold the trim in place. Take it off and refit it making sure you line the mechanism up properly.
4. This will cost you the best part of £300 and they just don't look right if you don't have the facelift bumper too (although I kinda want them too).
5. Probably a knackered element, common fault. Replacement pads can be bought for about £40 but you need to take the seat apart to fit (check fuse first though).
6. Your sunroof(s) leak, probably between the car roof and the sunroof frame. Remove headlining, remove sunroof(s), clean of old sealer and refit using a high quality exterior flexible sealant (I used roof and gutter sealant others have used sikaflex). Search google for lots of guides.

You can't possibly give that as a definite answer without seeing pic's as there could be an aftermarket bumper fitted:doh:

Hi all.

Am moving here from the Range rover section as i bought a Discovery 2 instead of staying with another p38 rr......and true to land rover form as i was driving it home the rear sunroof opened, closed and now won't move.......not bad for 8 hrs of ownership.....it's still very lovely though.

Will let you know whats wrong with mine when i have fixed it.

A very chuffed Nick!
