Need help quick please

just gone out to start the disco (its a 200tdi) and it wont ' when I turn the key the lights come on and the radio but when I turn it to start nothing no click no nothing anybody got any idea ??

I need the car as my wife is in hospital and will be for about a week its the only way I can get the kids to school and to hospital to see mum as we dont have a very good bus service

Starter motor solenoid?

I had same thing on my 300. Turned out it was a bad earth from starter to body . You have to take off each earth connection until you find the bad one. Trouble is it may take some time.

Thanks guys I off to try power from bat direct to solenoid if thant dont work I will try all the earth's on the starter

check the remote wire that goes from the ingniton switch to the starter motor. Its the thin wire. Mine did this and turned out the wire had come off.

I think I have found the problem yay its the ignition switch well the wires anyway where they go into the block on the back of the barrel the back it not going together fully so sometimes it works and sometimes not so now I'm off to fined a new set of wires
