Had 2002 V-6 Freelander worked on with typical Freelander fixes: :(

New second heater core(just out of warranty-they had already replaced one under warranty very quietly the first time.Didn't even mention it.I noticed it on the ticket), an engine, a transmission, new drive assy and rear end, the fun stuff.(Which is when I should have just obtained the parts from the UK and converted the thing to diesel, but that's another story)This was in an attempt to get it going again after it seriously died while going down the road.

The dealer had previously told me many times that, gee that strange noise, and the slipping/slam dunk you transmission shift patterns are normal and, later-oh my :eek: , how did that happen-you need a new everything now-when I had it towed in to them strangely enough after the warranty had of course expired!(Do they TRAIN these guys to say these things?);)

ok, now to my question. My shade-tree mechanic had replaced all the above with recycled parts, and it still does not run correctly.At least he was trying HARD to get the darn thing working right. More than I can say for the dealer.I have also had is reprogrammed twice by others trying to get all in sinc.{Most recently the dealer(yeh I had to use them again)tried the quick fix disk to no avail}

I am in possession of several made in Germany US spec computers from parted out Freelanders, engine, tranny,etc. and need to know which part number is correct.(That would be because the recycling yard in SC that I bought the parts from sent the wrong computer when I had originally needed a different tranny computer. They did this several times before they got it correct. And no, I did not/am not sending them back.This only slightly makes up for the: late shipment; broken mounts and other parts in shipment;several damaged CV joints(gee weren't they like new-Ah, NO!, and many other maladies that I suffered from their efforts)

The dealer is not 'allowed':rolleyes: to tell what the stinkin part number is.No kidding.I never had this problem with my Mazdas.

SO if someone could help me please pass the info along.

Thanks so much!
