anything cheaper will just be ****e and will only fail on you at the most awkward time.be wary of second hand chassis they may well look ok but a lot of the rot takes place inside.

FFS 6-700 quid IS cheap. A 90 one would be more like 8 or 900 quid +vat andf a 110 about 1200 plus vat.
even when the chassis is £700 ish you'll still be looking at the best part of a grand when you account for VAT and delivery
he'd be better off looking for an abandoned rebuild
or a tatty one and a welder

Tell you wish I'd gone for a new chassis instead of arsing about with the one I've got, what I've spent already would have gone towards the cost of a new one.

what have you had to do to it that's cost you allmost a grand ?
did you spend £500 on a mig machine to repair it ?

In the second istance yes I did buy a Mig, but before that I had to pay others to do it for me, as I was not up to speed with this welding lark, and I'm still not.

lol £700 aint cheap when your a student thats why i was askin, if i had a real job i obviously would just buy one!!!! landrovering on a very tight budget!

I coundn't agree more. I picked up a tax exempt unfinished project with a new chassis, nicely repaired bulkhead, most of the bodywork, but no engine or gearbox for £320 on ebay (the yellow SIII). I did extensive chassis repairs on the green IIA, years before, but I've seen the light now! Big chassis repairs are a waste of time and effort when you can get a new chassis that cheap.
Think about it hyland, as a student you're probably ****ing £320 up the wall every month.

lol i aint interested in attracting women in my landy i have it cos i love it and i love off roading and engineering projects (proabably best with my appauling spelling!!!) looks like ill be searching ebay for an old project...
