Need a mechanic or just someone who can help please

Hi all,I am in the wolverhampton area. I had a mechanic who basically said he knew everything about defenders & has made a right pigs ear of things & caused me more problems so I don't want to take my baby back to him. I need someone in Wolverhampton or nearby to maintain & repair my defender who knows what they are doing long term.

ASAP though he fitted a starter motor for me which is working fine but since then my battery is going flat in about 10 days. Been told may be the nuts not tight or something touching but I need it sorting & testing as its my daily transport! I am happy to pay someone not looking for a freebie

Is this all that's wrong with it? Not being funny but that doesn't mean the guy messed it up...Often fixing one issue exposes another! On the other hand fitting the starter motor he may have inadvertently affected the alternator preventing the battery from being recharged...? Then again I have no idea:D
 
It aint just that. I had to get my brakes sorted by my dad after he messed em up & he broke my exhaust as well ! My dads really good but hes too old to keep asking him thats why i need someone to do my jobs. I though may be alternator as well but need to have it tested I think. I know very little about cars

your best bet is to find a reputable garage, and let them keep your landy in good working order,any problems then you can take it back to them.
 
He'd tied my exhaust back on with some electrical wire! I heard a funny noise so got underneath to have a look & found it!
 
The hard thing is to find a good one. Any recommendations for the Wolverhampton or surrounding area would be much appreciated!
 
You could try john Craddock, Cannock, I have used them twice during the last two years for work that I was not happy to undertake my self. They are in North street, Bridge town just off the A5 Email. [email protected].. phone 01543 577207. The po is WS11 0AZ. as I have found them to do a good job and not over the top price wise.
 
A doris love it! i have a friend who actually calls me doris. Was tied onto the chassis I said it was bad just taking the Michael! I got talking to some people with a defender on the drive they gave me number of a mechanic they use so hopefully will be good! & I frequently get my hands dirty when I do jobs with my dad but don't think I'd have the knowledge on my own but will have a look at the land rover club. Thanks for all the advise!
