ok hi all, just got my disco MOT'D but it overheated on the way home,i stopped and let it cool down(it was 25c outside)so i drained the water out and flushed the rad and heater matrix with a pressure washer, filled it back up with water+anti-freeze mix making sure that there was no air left in the system, after starting and letting it tick over for 20mins the temp guage went up to a quarter and im getting heat from the blowers,my question is what is the running temp normally at(driving and tick over)i dont want to feck it up as the disco's nearly 20 years old and i want to keep the old girl running.:).....should have said the heater matrix was replaced just before i got it,but the system wasnt flushed or blead!

My 300tdi temp gauge reads just below half way (around 8 o'clock ) and that's without the viscouse fan fitted.
