Hi All,

I looked for one of these for some time a few years back but gave up on the idea after not really finding much at all. I did find some adapters but they were not quite what I needed as I just want to tow a standard trailer using the NATO electrics. I did fit a standard 7-pin socket at the tow ball, but I've cracked it a few times after hitting it whilst going over some deeper ruts, so I will be removing it and using this adapter from now on.

I have managed to get hold of some new stock NATO 12-Pin sockets and I've 3D printed some adapters for the cable bung and wired it up for a 7-Pin socket. I've also printed up a bung for a dual cable 7N+7S configuration as well so I can use it for towing a caravan. The wiring is definitely going to be a bit more challenging when cabling for the 12 wires needed (1 unused on pin 12) in a 13-pin trailer connection as space is at a bit of a premium inside the plug despite its large size.

I have maybe rightly or wrongly assumed that because I wanted one other may also want one as well. I thought I would put this post out there to actually see if there would be any level of interest from others for these? If there is enough interest I could purchase the components and put together a few more.

Just a couple of things;).

welcome:).
Edit your postcode to somewhere close;).
You have done a fantastic job on that:).
But sadly you shouldn't try and sell your tat (however good it is on your first post) until you have chatted a while with fellow madhouse occupants :).

Thanks, the postcode has been updated to town instead.

Sadly, I feel you have misinterpreted my post.

I am not selling "tat" or anything else on my first post... At no point did I mention selling anything. It was a problem for me for ages and if others were interested then I am simply trying to help others solve the same problem by sharing an experience.

By asking if there was enough interest then I would probably go through the hassle of writing up a "how to" guide with wiring diagrams, sending them the supplier details I used so they can source parts, and me providing STL files so they can print the parts. I wasn't going to waste time doing this if no one was interested.

Sorry but it was this line that said to me you were going to try to sell something.

As you say I am sure you are not alone and there would be many interested in a how to guide.

To clarify the parts are sourced in Europe and not everyone wants the hassle of importing these and not everyone has access to a 3D printer, I would help with this if there was a suitable level of interest, otherwise, I am happy to supply all the details. I will put together a how-to guide if more than a few people show any interest.

I like this good job mate, another 40 posts & you could sell em on here. I re-wired my sankey with leds & reworked the original loom to suit the 7 pin plug.
to suit. Bit of a faff but
