Hi all,

I'm currently building an expedition vehicle for a trip I'm planning in a few years time. The first step was to install a Split charge system. I believe the install went really well even though I'm not the most experienced at mechanics I managed to get the system wired in and from the battery monitor everything is charging really well.

The thing is that my auxiliary battery seems to drain quite quickly even when there is no load attached to it. I admit I only use the car at the weekends but in a week I can loose half the charge from the Aux battery, and it will continue to drain until the warning flashes.

Is this normal behavior from the auxiliary battery the main starter battery keeps its power quite normally and even if I leave the car for weeks it will still shows power and will turn the engine. If i isolate the axillary battery using the circuit breaker when the vehicle is not being used will this help it keep its charge?

Many Thanks,

Nic
