Well done cos low/inconsistent voltage can mix up all kind of things, let's hope there's nit some crack in the harness on the injector management path too

I'll keep my eye out for a new engine loom as mine is 18 years old, but they are expensive! Even a Britpart one was near £500. I don't see the point in putting a used one on unless it's an emergency.

There's one on ebay for £224 which they reckon was fitted at a dealers to solve a problem but it didn't solve it so was removed the same day.

I replaced my engine harness when it was 12 years old as i had money and didnt like how mine looked even though the vehicle ran fine without any fault.... so i thought cos after i replaced the harness it ran much better, it was around 250 quid at that time and i had no remorse

And presumably you still have your old one for spares, good plan.

Little update, I’ve been ignoring the original starting issue but noticed today with this warm weather there’s no smoke/missing when starting. This must be a cold start issue, but I’ve no idea why!

I wondered about that but then it’s been tested with 5 ECUs with different maps and it was the same, although it did start shortly after Dynachip remapped it. He said it was the injector washers, which it wasn’t.

If let's say the ECT sensor is reading higher at low temps the ECU will not start the glow plugs post heat operation, that's another chance but it can't be checked now as it's not cold anymore...watch through your logs, can you find at least one where the ECT is below 20*C
