From all this thread which i followed from the beginning at this point i'm not convinced at all that it's air in the system cos if it was the symptom should have not occured after a purge sequence IMO

Even if the injector copper washers haven't sealed? In that case, that's the next thing that's getting changed!

Again? ...IMO in any case if the problem is air in the system after a purge the engine should start and run normally cos that's what the purge does, it eliminates the air if there is any

Was this log recorded at the beginning of the trip immediately after start up and does it cover the whole 30 minute driving? ... i think the defender ECU doesnt get the VSS signal for road speed cos the speedometer is driven by that transducer on the TB not by an ECU like on a D2

record a log when the engine is up to operating temperature cos i've seen some suspect readings there

This is just a short trip including startup, a few minutes at most, as I haven’t bothered MOT’ing it I’m a bit limited how far I can go. I had never noticed before that the road speed was missing from the log, I’m sure I can see it on live data and from memory I’m sure I can on Lynx too.

EDIT: Nanocom does not display the road speed, the speedo does though

Multimeter on battery is showing 14.5ish when engine running, varies from 13.5 to 14.6 when driving

Ran some jump leads from the battery negative to chassis/earth and another jump lead from battery negative to ecu earth and readings are a lot better. Not sure if this will help with the starting issue or not....

Hi Tom
Just to let you know that you atebta alone with your rough start. Mine runs crappy for a short while when first starting before running perfectly

It smokes less than it did before the remap, dynachip knows what he’s doing. It only smokes when I should have changed down a gear. If it did it all the time I would be concerned.

It should not smoke at any stage unchipped, chipped a little can be expected.
